Important Notice:
This Privacy Policy is provided as placeholder legal content for the Nuveld platform and should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before commercial launch.
1. Introduction

3. Worker Herd-Code Access
Workers do not create full Nuveld accounts in the first version.
Workers access a limited event logging screen by entering an 8-digit herd code provided by a farmer.
When a worker logs an event, Nuveld records that the event was submitted through herd-code access. Nuveld may collect technical information such as IP address, device information, and timestamps for security and troubleshooting.
4. How We Use Information
Nuveld uses information to:
- Create and manage farmer accounts.
- Authenticate farmers.
- Provide herd and event management features.
- Calculate herd counts.
- Allow workers to log events for a specific herd.
- Store legal acceptance records.
- Improve platform reliability and usability.
- Detect abuse, unauthorized access, or security issues.
- Provide support and troubleshooting.
- Maintain backups and audit records.
5. Legal Acceptance Records
When a farmer signs up, Nuveld records acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, including document version and timestamp. Nuveld may also record IP address and user agent for audit purposes.
6. How Information Is Shared
Nuveld does not sell farmer data.
Nuveld may share information only when necessary:
- With service providers that host, operate, secure, or support the platform.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
- To protect the rights, safety, or security of Nuveld, its users, or others.
- As part of a business transfer, merger, acquisition, or restructuring, if applicable.
7. Data Retention
Nuveld retains information for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain backups, prevent fraud, and preserve historical livestock records.
Farm, herd, and event records may be retained for audit and operational history even after account deletion, unless deletion is legally required and technically feasible.
8. Account Deletion
Farmers may delete their account through account settings.
When an account is deleted, Nuveld may:
- Disable login access.
- End active sessions.
- Delete or anonymize personal account information.
- Mark farms and herds as inactive or deleted.
- Retain historical herd and event records where necessary for audit, legal, backup, or legitimate operational purposes.
Some information may remain in backups, logs, or archival systems for a limited period.
9. Security
Nuveld uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including password hashing, access control, authorization checks, and secure session handling.
No system can guarantee absolute security. Farmers are responsible for protecting their login credentials and controlling who receives herd codes.
10. Herd Codes
Herd codes allow limited access to a specific herd's event logging screen. Farmers are responsible for sharing herd codes only with authorized people.
Farmers may regenerate a herd code to revoke access. Old codes should stop working after regeneration.
11. Children's Privacy
Nuveld is intended for use by farmers and authorized workers. Nuveld is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to consent to digital services. If a child's personal information is discovered, it may be deleted or restricted.
12. International Users
Nuveld may be accessed from different countries. By using Nuveld, you understand that information may be processed and stored in locations where the platform or its service providers operate.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Nuveld may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, farmers may be required to review and accept the updated Privacy Policy before continuing to use the platform.
14. Analytics and Usage Data
Nuveld collects limited analytics and usage data to operate, maintain, and improve the platform.
What is collected:
- Aggregated platform usage statistics, such as the number of signups, farms, herds, and logged events over time.
- Event logging activity, such as event types, species, life stages, quantities, and whether an event was logged by a farmer or through a herd code.
- Herd code usage information, including successful and failed herd code login attempts, used to protect accounts and detect abuse.
- Technical synchronization data, such as whether events queued while offline were successfully synchronized.
- Limited technical metadata, such as approximate timestamps and truncated or masked network information used for security monitoring.
How it is used:
- To monitor platform health, reliability, and adoption.
- To detect suspicious activity, such as repeated failed herd code login attempts.
- To identify product improvements based on how features are used in aggregate.
- To generate internal administrative reports and insights.
Access restrictions:
Analytics data is accessible only to authorized Nuveld administrators. Administrative access is role-restricted, requires authentication, and sensitive actions such as data exports require additional password confirmation. Administrative access and export activity is logged for accountability.
Privacy protections:
Analytics views rely on aggregated data wherever possible. Where individual records are shown to administrators, personal identifiers such as email addresses and network addresses are masked or truncated by default.
Retention:
Analytics and security log data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it may be deleted or further aggregated.
Security:
Analytics data is protected by the same technical and organizational safeguards described in the Security section of this policy.
